Rahu kaal and gulika are avoided for beginnings; abhijit muhurta offers a midday window on many days when other factors align.

Generic panchang muhurtas are a starting point. Electional Jyotish refines them against your janma kundli — especially the lagna lord and the house related to the event.
A griha pravesh muhurta should strengthen your fourth bhava; a business launch should honour the tenth and eleventh.
Practical flexibility
City traffic, guest travel and registrar office hours matter. Pandits offer primary and secondary windows — often two or three muhurtas across auspicious days.
Shraddha in the chosen moment counts. Arriving flustered after ignoring Rahu kaal is worse than calmly beginning in the second-best lagna with mantra and sankalp.
